History

A&A Telecom was actually started in 1990 as a combination of two companies Altel Communications in Austin, Texas and Artel Communications in Waco, Texas. Alan Hummon founded Altel and Phillip Neely founded Artel.. Both were former employees of Lanier Business Products and were in the Telecom Division. When Lanier decided it did not want to be in the telephone business they both started their respective companies. As they partnered on deals they found that they would have a better image if they joined forces, so in November 1990 they formed A&A Telecom Group and it was incorporated on January 1st 1991. They grew rapidly and evolved into a full service telecom business offering Telephone systems, voice mail, telephone peripherals, long distance and networking services. With offices in Austin and Waco they are able to sell and service systems from the Dallas area down to San Antonio. Even though are core business is in Central Texas we also have customers in Arizona, DC, Mexico and many others. Our industry is quickly changing to IP and in a strong growth pattern. The telecom business had its best years in 1998 and 1999 because of the Y2K phenomenon and since our business is on a 7 to 10 year cycle we are ready for another boom.

One of the reasons that A&A Telecom Group has been successful is its outstanding customer service, all our key field engineers are very experienced and they are driven to make our customers happy. It is because of our customer care that we have many, many loyal customers through out Texas.
